Welcome Back!
I hope that you had a great summer. Summer gives us a chance to rest, to recharge, and to rekindle our passion for educating young people. Listed below is the schedule for August 11-12. Please check back every week or so from now until the beginning of school in case there are changes.
August 11

Instructional Assistants—You will start your day in the library at Graham. We will go over things you will need to know about building your daily schedule. We will start promptly at 8:00.
Those going through PEPE full evaluation—We will meet in the library at 8:20. We will go over the process, show you where you can find samples of all forms and go over the timeline for the evaluation process

Following the faculty meeting, you are free to work in rooms and take lunch on your own.

6th Grade Teachers—You will have follow-up training on using the Palm handhelds in the classroom. Training will be in Mrs. Killough’s room at Graham.
All others—You have this time to follow-up on training you have received and be available to greet parents who want to drop off supplies. (**Note—we usually do this on the afternoon of the second day. That will be different this year.)
August 12
Morning
Everyone will meet at THS. Our featured speaker will be Dr. Steve Edwards. Mr. Messer, Mr. Campbell, Mr. Douthitt, and I heard Dr. Edwards speak in February, and found him to be an excellent and very practical speaker.
Afternoon
Teachers and instructional assistants will return to THS. Dr. Walker from the Alabama State Department of Education will address us on changes in special education practices and how they will impact us.
